We sit at the intersection of computer vision, computational photography, and physical AI — building systems that perceive, reconstruct, and interact with the physical world, grounded in the principles of light and imaging.
RAW is three things at once.

- Unprocessed data straight from the camera sensor, before any pipeline touches it.
- Robust AI in the Wild
- Perception that holds up outside the conditions it was trained on.

- The Chinese word for essence — the world as it truly is, before any approximation is made.
Openings
RAW Lab is recruiting its first cohort. I am looking for people who are curious about how images come to exist, comfortable reading a paper and a datasheet in the same afternoon, and willing to spend time on problems that do not have clean benchmarks yet.
Fall 2027 Intake
Open positions for PhD students, Master students, and visiting students / research assistants. Prior experience in low-level vision, 3D reconstruction, or robotics is welcome but not required — a strong programming background and genuine interest matter more.
