We sit at the intersection of computer vision, computational photography, and embodied AI — building systems that perceive, reconstruct, and interact with the physical world, grounded in the principles of light.
RAW is three things at once.

- Unprocessed data straight from the camera sensor, before any pipeline touches it.
- Robust AI in the Wild
- Perception that holds up outside the conditions it was trained on.

- The Chinese word for essence — the world as it truly is, before any approximation is made.
Openings
RAW Lab is recruiting its first cohort of students. Interest comes first: I want people who are curious about how images come to exist and drawn to problems that do not have clean benchmarks yet. Equally important is a strong foundation in programming and logical reasoning.
Fall 2027 Intake
Open positions for PhD students, Master students, and visiting students / research assistants. Prior experience in low-level vision, 3D reconstruction, or robotics is welcome but not required — a strong programming background and genuine interest matter more.
